About Us

Lighthouse Health and Safety has offered affordable, high quality, CPR courses to businesses, schools, and summer camps throughout Northern New England since 2011. Our training gives everyone an opportunity to learn lifesaving skills and become American Red Cross certified. All courses are taught at your facility, on your schedule, and we do not charge an on-site delivery fee. Our mission is to meet your needs with the understanding that needs are individual.

It all started with one woman who had a vision that she could offer full service, on-site, lifesaving training to anyone who wanted to learn. We have evolved from helping people find supplies for their first aid kit and the occasional CPR or Lifeguard training, to becoming the preferred American Red Cross Licensed Training Provider and Strategic Partner for Maine and New Hampshire.   Thirteen instructors throughout Maine and New Hampshire ensure you will receive the highest quality training you will find in the northeast.

Adult First Aid/CPR/AED training can be completed in less than an hour of classroom time and Lifeguard training can be done in two days using the blended learning format. We offer a wide variety of courses and will work with you to understand, determine, and deliver exactly what you need.

If you have a deadline that needs to be met, Lighthouse Health and Safety will help you meet that deadline and save time, while make the training fun and affordable.

Some day the life you save could be your own.

Eileen Lafland
Instructor, Instructor Trainer

I started teaching Red Cross swimming courses 45 years ago and became a water safety instructor trainer about 35 years ago. I started teaching First Aid and CPR classes about the same time as I became a WSIT. As new training became available I became an AED instructor and have just recently added BloodBorne Pathogens as an area I can teach. I have taught Full service and Community classes for ARC as well as being responsible for helping train teachers and staff in the school district I recently retired from. As a WSI instructor trainer I am responsible for training students at the East Millinocket Rec Dept. and have held many classes over the years in the Bangor area with students from many towns and cities. I also assisted in training other WSIT’s over the years.  I am also a certified Hunter, Snowmobile and ATV safety instructor for Me Dept.of Inland, Fisheries and Wildlife and have used my Red Cross First Aid/CPR/ AED training in the classes I have taught for them. In my spare time I am also an active member of the Maine Snowmobile Association and am currently Eastern Region VP for that organization, being responsible for representing over 70 snowmobile clubs in the Penobscot, Hancock, Washington and Piscataquis counties.   Eileen has been with Lighthouse Health and Safety since 2015.
